HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

As most of you know JR's birthday is on Christmas day. He is spoiled rotten! His parents got him a DS for his birthday. Of course I got him games for it and the Monopoly for his X-BOX 360. That boy has enough electronic gadgets/game things to entertain a herd of kids at a pre-school, but whatever :) It was nice of his parent to have us over for pizza, football and gifts. Still think the boy is way too spoiled! But, we love him!!

Ali is already wanting to play his games. The great thing about the DS is that since both the kids have them as well so they can all sit around and play each other. It gives me a break :)

Dinning Out 2008

For those of you that don't have Facebook.......
I will start with the party shirt. Without going into great detail, it is just a silly thing they do.

Here we are all dressed up and ready to go. Once we get there my heel breaks(after btw, I told my friend my shoe was good and it had not broke in over two years, I guess the wood I knocked on was fake!) and I have to compose myself while talking to one the spouses, once I get finished talking to her,I had to get JR's attention to help me! I walked on my tip-toes to an empty room so JR could fix my shoe. It was interesting to say the least. OH and it was like 90 degrees in the O'club so everyone was smelling their best :) We had a great time though and the speaker was very interesting. I didn't even break out my Scrabble on the phone, I was very proud of myself.

Us again! Isn't he so handsome!! BTW, he got hit on by an OT's Grandmother today at the Open House :) She couldn't get over his dimples and blue eyes. It was hilarious!

"Camping"

The kids had a great time going camping this weekend with Granny and Grandpa! This was their first time going camping and Ali is already asking when they can go again! I think it would be fun to go with them next time. *hint hint*

Zac was a little big for the top bunk so Ali got to sleep up there. Zac is almost eye to eye with me!

Ali fit just right in the top bunk.

Granny had a full time job cooking and cleaning. This is one of the many pictures the kids took of her cooking :)

"The Dress"

For my girl readers, here is the new formal dress I bought yesterday. I was a mission and found this dress as soon as I got to the formal section at Dillard's! It was on SALE too. Under $50 and the accessories, I already had from being in Melissa's wedding a few years ago! I have really gotten a lot of use out of those shoes! I will post pictures Wednesday after the Dinning Out, of me and my hot date all dressed up.
Now, I have 12 weeks to get down a dress size so I can wear one of the 6 formals I already have for the next Dinning Out! (BTW, a Dinning Out is a Military function for you non-military basically the guys get dressed up in their Dress Blues and the date is in there formal)
So what do you think?? It is gray and black. I think it makes me look tall :) I need that when JR is 12 feet tall and I am so short!

Playing out at G-Mama and G-Daddy's

"Having fun at the Grandparents"

Zac is always being silly. He is such a good sport about letting the girls dress him up to get a laugh. Zac is in the dress and Blane the oldest cousin, is next to him. My parents have a room over the garage that is FULL of toys and dress up stuff. You name it they have it up there. The kids spend hours playing.
Ali is on one of the "buggies" as we call it. My dad always makes sure those things are gassed up and ready to go. The kids drive all over the property in them. Some call it being lazy but when you were a kids I am sure you would have thought it was so cool to "drive" around in one of those. The boys I think have a little too much fun on them but boys will be boys!

Ali's Pie's

For Thanksgiving week the kids went the G-mama and G-daddy's for the week. Zac played outside hunting and building a fort with his cousins while Ali stayed inside where it was warm and baked with my mom. She made Pumpkin pies, they were SO GOOD!
She loves watching cooking shows and helping in the kitchen. Maybe one day she will become a Chef!

This is the end result. Look at that MESS in the background. That is why I don't bake much! If you know me you know I don't like mess!

What's Missing?

Here is some of the Yummy foods
we made for dinner
YES! the Turkey is missing! I was going to take a picture of the turkey before we dug into it but,I was so excited about the way it turned out I couldn't wait to taste it and see if it tasted as good as it looked. It was perfectly fried. Good job JR! It was all in all a good day. We went to my parents for breakfast and games then came back to town to make and eat dinner with JR's side of the family. We played more games and just had a relaxing time. Next month, CHRISTMAS and don't forget of course JR's BIRTHDAY! We get to over-eat once again! We are having Boston Butt for Christmas dinner. I like to change it up sometime. Maybe next year we will do Mexican. Who says you have to have the "traditional foods" for the holidays?? Heck, maybe next Thanksgiving /Christmas we will all go on a Cruise!

Thanksgiving or Christmas??

Can anyone tell me which one comes first these days??When is it politically correct to get out the tree and start decorating? I say the first week in December but what do you think?? Christmas decorations were out before Halloween. I say we just take one Holiday at the time!! Last month I saw a house already with their Christmas lights on the house and Santa in the yard. Now, I know it's Alabama and most people never take their lights down but these were on and everything! So PEOPLE it's Thanksgiving next THEN Christmas!!

Girlfriends...

So Zac got his heart broken today. He has had a girlfriend for a few weeks now and that all ended today. Not like he hasn't had a girlfriend before he just seemed pretty broken up about this one. The funny thing is he never spoke to the girl! All his other little girl friends, he was on the phone all the time after school or emailing them and I never saw him act like he is now. I think this girl was too pretty for him to get up the nerve to actually talk too. Another funny thing is I told him she was going to "break up" with him since he never talked to her.I jinxed it,sorry Zac:) I guess I am just trying to teach him how to treat a girl and how to be that kind of guy every girl wants. I want there to be hope for his age group! I am sure there will be plenty more days of broken hearts. Wait until Ali starts having boy friends, kill me now!

playing dress up

This is JR being an 80's Rock Star but everyone thought he was Bret Micheals.
Zac was Luigi and Ali was a 50's girl.

I am JR's nurse and again JR being "Bret Micheals".

The Family at the Fall Festival

Nice!

Can I just say how wonderful this weather is today and yesterday! Now,if we could keep it this nice I would be one happy lady!

fall is here...i think

So I thought moving from Texas to Alabama would be nice. I figured it would be cooler weather, lots of color besides dirty and dried leaves but I guess I was just delusional. You always think grass is greener on the other side. One day it is nice a cool, we open the windows and think now with the A/C off we can save some $$$ but NO the next day it is high 80's! (which by the way that's HOT!) I am so ready for nice cool days with a breeze that smells like wood burning in a fireplace. I am ready to get out my jeans a sweaters and just be cozy. It seems Texas is starting to feel (weather wise) what I long for but Alabama doesn't have nice fall days it has summer with a touch of fall just to make you sick with a nasty cold. I know I sound bitter but I am missing my Texas family and I just miss Abilene! I know I am crazy. I have that Military move itch and I am ready to try something new. Montgomery just has not lived up to my expectations I guess. Maybe I should lower my standards....nah I will wait a few more years....I guess :) We have found a pretty good church and I really enjoy living near one of my best friends of over 15 years so I guess there is some good living in Montgomery,I will keep searching for more reasons, that should make me feel better. If we could combine Texas,Washington and Alabama together I would be the happiest girl a live!

So long...

Fare well to little Mia. So she lasted all of a week if that but she had to go! I didn't even get a picture up on the blog for you few viewers but oh well. ~I am happy as can be, though. We are a family of two dogs and we should have known better but I guess you have to reminded every once in a while. The dumb dog just didn't know how well she had it. You only get a few chances but I just cant spend my days walking a dog to do her business and then heaven forbid we be lazy and just let her out in the backyard to do her thing and she would get out and run away,I have better things to do than walk and drive around the neighborhood looking for that dog. So life goes on once again with 2 dogs. Just wanted to let you know all those who thought we were crazy for letting her into our home, SHE'S GONE and you were.....right! There I said it You were right, we were stupid :) Love you Barb and Jennifer. LOL with a roll of the eyes :)

Something to think about.....

I AM THANKFUL FOR THE WIFE WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT, BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME, AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES, BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY,BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT, BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY, BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING BECAUSE IT MEANS, I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS, BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE!

WOW!

So much going on a no time to sit and think about it....well you know. First,my dad is still in the hospital :( We are praying he gets to come home this weekend but that is up to God and I guess the doctors :) He is doing a lot better and there is no more fever so that is really good!

Next, I got a job. I work for a lady named Helga. She is pretty cool and I think I am going to like working for her. I just do what she tells me to. She even makes me sit and watch The View! If I get up she says in her German accent "Helen, sit, watch The View you have plenty of time to do other things later". It is so funny. It is not much pay but it keeps me busy and it is something to put in the savings account!

Now for the big shocker...well not really to most. We got ANOTHER dog! She is so tiny and sweet. Once I can find my cord to the camera I will put a picture of her on here. She looks like a mixture of the other two dogs but half the size of Zoey. We are still training her but she is learning quick. Mia is about 3 years old so she is older and slower than the other girls, which is nice. I still don't know how is in the world we got another dog but what can you do now?? We say it is for Ali's birthday, that's our story and we are sticking to it!

So I guess JR will update you guys on all his happenings on his blog so check it out. We are living in VERY busy times!!

Busy Busy

Life has been very crazy lately. JR being an instructor is in full swing. His first flight is graduating next Wednesday and his next class got in today! With all the extra stuff that goes along with a class graduating and a new class coming in there seems to be no time for things like sleeping and relaxing. We knew that it was going to be busy but I didn't think it would be this busy! I will have to admit I did like going to the O'club orientation last Friday night. All the OT's acted like I was the Queen of the Air Force. I even had one guy tell me it was a honor to talk to me, if only he knew I was just a Lt.'s wife (which that is what his wife is going to be soon) I don't think he would have been so honored but whatever :) I just laughed and said thank you :)

The kids are doing great in school. As of right now they both have A's and B's. They are really enjoying ACA and making lots of new friends. Ali's birthday is coming up in Oct. she will be 9 years old! WOW time fly's.

JR and I will be celebrating our 12 year anniversary this Sunday. I guess I should say was are going to attempt to celebrate our anniversary. I have left it up to him to plan something. I can't really remember the last time we were actually together for an anniversary. With JR going TDY or being deployed it kind of limits us. We cant really plan his TDY's etc. around certain dates, boy if we could do that there would be a lot more happier military wives out there!

An update on my dad: He had surgery today and Lord willing in about 5 day he will come home. They cleaned the knee where the infection is and replaced some of the artifical knee cap. Meloney and I are heading over to Georgia in the morning to see him so please pray for safe travels and fast healing for my dad!

So that's whats going here...how about you??

About "The Job"

Yes, I got the job. There is a catch though. Right Home is a new company and they are building their client base so I have a job but I am not working or making any money yet. Basically this is a great job for a housewife that doesn't want to be a 9-5 worker. Once the company does get more clients I can choose if I want to take the job or not. Now for what I will be doing. Basically I will be taking care of Elderly people. I will take them to the doctor,do their light house keeping and make sure they are taken care of as if they were my own parent. I love "old people". They have some much to teach and I have a ton to learn. I love listening to their stories and how they grew up. I truly believe that if everyone was raised like they were back in the 20's and 30's this world wouldn't be in debt etc. (that's a just say'n moment) So that is my job. In the mean time while I am waiting for a call to start work I joined Planet Fitness! It is a great GYM and I wish I had joined a long time ago. Now that I am 3o I HAVE to get back into shape. So that is my focus right now too :)

A Job??

I have been struggling for a while now about whether I should get a job or not. I don't have to work but I like to feel like I am contributing to the family besides taking care of all their needs. For the past couple years I have been doing little jobs here and there to bring a little income to the family while also being able to be there for Zac and Ali. Cleaning houses and taking care of the Elderly is what I like to do. I was listening to the radio yesterday and a commercial came on for a web site. The web site helps you find jobs in the area. So last night I went to the site and there was a job that had Perfect for Homemakers. In reading the job description I thought I could do that.I would be doing exactly what I was doing for Mrs.Bobbie and Mrs.Marion. I emailed the company and I got a call with-in 2 hours asking me to come in today for an interview. So in saying all that,I might be getting a job, a real job that takes taxes out and everything:) I just pray it will allow me to still do what I do as a mom and wife and not take up family time. So yeah, that's whats going on here.

Prayers Needed

I just want to ask everyone to pray for my family right now. My brother-n-law Eric is in the hospital right now with his pancreas and is in extreme pain. Please pray that he will recover quickly and that Meloney can keep everything going smoothly at home for her families sake. Also, for my other sister. Her family is going through so much right now. Pray for strength. I know we will all get through this by the grace of God and our time schedule is not God's time schedule, but we will make it!

First day of 4th and 5th grade

Zac and Ali started ACA today. We are so excited about them attending there. I went there as a kid so I am proud that my kids get to go there as well.

I love that they have to wear uniforms! There are several different things to wear so they won't get bored but it is still nice not to have to fight about what they will wear. The girls have more choices but, hey they are girls!

Ali and Zac have wonderful teachers and they actually had smiles on their faces when I picked them up from school. For my kids to say they had a great day at school is amazing! I am looking forward to this school year and watching my kids grow.

Kids Horse Back Riding

In Milbrook there is a wonderful place to go horse back riding. My mom took all the Grand-kids there for a last field trip for the summer type thing. This was their first time to actually go through the woods for a real horse back riding adventure. Most times, someone is holding the reins and leading them in a circle. They were excited to be able to do it themselves this time. The kids have gone to several places this summer. Last week they got to go to the Pike County Museum to learn Alabama History and learn how they did things the old fashion way :) Ali learned a lot for her up coming studies for the 4th grade. If you know Ali, she was very excited about it. I am surprised she hasn't already gotten her assignments and started them for school. She is silly like that. So that's what has been going here in these past weeks.

The Diboll Family 2008

Here are just a few of the pictures we had done today. I am sure JR will post more of the "Rock and ROll" pictures on his blog. We had fun. It has been a LONG time since we had family pictures taken. So anyway,ENJOY :)

Kids on vacation

Since my kids were babies they have gone on vacations without JR and myself. Most of the time it is either to Alabama to see the Grandparents or to the beach with

my parents. For Zac's birthday my parents took the grand-kids to Florida for a few days while I stayed home and relaxed. While at the beach they rented a pontoon boat and went tubing. My sisters went to help out with the kids and to get out of Montgomery for a few days. Thanks for letting me stay home!! Don't get me wrong,it looks like they had a blast and I wish I could have been there to see my kids enjoying themselves but my time at home was nice too. I am planning a get-a-way weekend with my little family very soon!

Change

So with everything going on in my life right now, I decided to color my hair. I should have taken a before picture but, there is a change in color. My hair was turning almost brown but now it is back to red. Not sure if the older you get the darker your hair gets but...its back to red and that is all that matters. I just wish changing something would make me feel better! We will see how JR likes it. I didn't even tell him I was going to do it.
Anyways, everyone please pray for my family. We are going through a lot right now and it is effecting everyone. The devil is working overtime right now! I just need the strength to fight back!!!

what to post about???

Well, it has been a while since I have posted. A lot has been going on. Jennifer and Emma have come and gone. We had a good visit. It was too quick though. We didn't get to do a lot. The children and I had to go to VBS each day and my grandmother was in the hospital the entire time Jen was here. Our pool was green so we couldn't swim like we planned. Next time we will come to Texas :) My Grandmother is fine as of right now. Her heart is just getting weak.

The kids are getting ready to start back school. We have a little over a month left of summer break. They have to do their summer reading and write their reports before then! Man they better get on the ball!!

Zac still plans on going to summer camp at the end of July. He will be attending the camp I went to as a child. It is a lot of fun to go back to see how much it has changed. A tornado came threw and destroyed most of the grounds. The cabins with all our names written everywhere were destroyed. Maybe Zac and Ali can leave there stamp one day :)

So Ace will be leaving us soon. He should be flying, yes flying home to be with his family on Monday. We have been taking care of hime for about 5 months now for some good friends of ours. It is amazing all the crap you have to do to fly a dog somewhere. You have to sign away your life to do it. It will be weird living in this house with him. He has been with us since day one of the move. We will survive though,I am sure :)

I am turning 30! Never thought I would be in my 30's :( In my mind I am 21 and will always be 21! I am celebrating my birthday by going to a Shinedown concert with JR and Melissa. First, that morning I am going to get an hour massage and go to lunch with my sisters. I cant wait for the massage! I need it so bad.

So....that is whats been going here :)

making a list and checking it twice

I am so excited! One of my very close friends is coming to see us! I love having company:) It is in my blood as a "Southerner" to enjoy entertaining. Jennifer and Emma are coming from Texas to visit in a few weeks. I cant wait to go to Logan's Steak house and enjoy some good food and good company like the old days. I wish more people would come visit us *hint hint*! People say it's Montgomery what is there to do? There is plenty to do! We have the Biscuit's Baseball team, tons of shopping in East Chase and if that isn't good enough well, there is ME! I am here and that should be enough LOL! Oh and JR is here too. He will always have a story waiting or a Monopoly game to play. So come on everybody its the summer time COME VISIT!

Monday, June 2, 2008

very cool story

what if we had more people like theses guys but taking it to a higher level and adding Christ into the mix and sharing the gospel along the way?

We've been BUSY!

This week JR took off to get "stuff" done around the house. We finally got his office painted and and started to be organized. We are just waiting for some guitar hangers. So there it is. We are almost done decorating the house. I painted the kitchen too. I am still doing touch ups on the kitchen. Next, I want to get rid of the wood boarders in the den and kitchen and paint them white. I think the wood is very 80's.

Naps

It's Sunday and most people on Sundays take naps after church. I am not one of those people. I would rather get "stuff" done and spend time with the family but on this day I took a nap. I regret taking that nap! I slept for 3 hours! Now I CANT sleep!!! It is 12:30am and I wish I had gotten my list done rather than sinking down into my nice comfortable bed with the shades shut and HGTV on and falling asleep. I was so sleepy after having a girls night out and being gone all day Saturday to the ball field. I guess in my old age I just cant be up late anymore :) I never thought at 29 I would be saying I am old but good Lord,I fall asleep watching the morning shows! I take a nap from taking a nap. What has gotten into me? It is like Alabama has drained me from who I use to be. I miss Abilene. I had so much energy. I was working out all the time,my house was clean,my lawn was cut at all times. I move here and all I can do is lay around and get fat. I have to snap out of it! No more naps for me!!

Saturday, May 17, 2008

Last Saturday I had to opportunity to go to a "Tea at Two" with Ali and the rest of the girls in my family. Ever year the church puts this on the Sunday before Mother's Day. The little girls dress up with a cute hat and some with gloves and we set and eat little sandwiches and lots of desserts. Oh and there was tea :) I am not a big tea drinker but we were able to try different flavors and I really enjoyed it. Next year I will be in charge of the little girls performing a fashion show during the tea. So if anyone has any cool idea PLEASE let me know!

The thing I find funny about the whole tea is that it IS the day before Mothers Day. Why would anyone do that?? It take weeks to prepare two days to set up and 1 hour to eat. So basically we are too exhausted to even enjoy the thing. Plus we know after we have to clean and pack up everything! Next year I think we should have the GUYS plan the event and do all the work so we can actually enjoy the weekend:) I know that will never happen but a woman can dream, cant she??

Silly Dogs

The kids thought it would be cute to try put the goggles on the dogs. The only one that likes to swim is Ace, though. We did put Zoey and Dililah in the pool yesterday but it didn't last long :) Dililah thought she was Jesus and started walking on the water to get out. It was hilarious. Zoey went straight for the stairs and jumped out. Ace went for the deep in to be able to stay in longer. Dogs are so funny!

A funny video for us moms

2 Things...

These are the two things that make my day! I can never have too many chips and salsa with a COLD Margarita. Some of my favorite memories of Offutt Afb was walking to Lil' Burro with my friend Jenn to eat and drink. It was so relaxing. Salsa is about the only way you can get me to eat onions, garlic, peppers etc. If you know me you know I am not one to eat vegetables, but put salsa in front of me and I will eat some veggies! I love a good margarita to relax me and I am one happy lady :)

YEAH!!!!

We WON the game today! Zac didn't get a hit today but at least we won :) Our pitcher was so awesome that only one kid on the other team hit the ball ONCE!! 5-0 was the score. We are very excited. Hopefully now the boys have some confidence in themselves :) My nephew also won his game. What is really weird is that we watch Facing the Giants, for those who have not seen that movie I really encourage everyone to rent or buy it. Once you watch the movie you will see why I was feeling good today after watching that movie and winning our games. Facing the Giants is rated G and is great for all ages. It is Bible based and it really leavesyou feeling good.

OK... I am going to get my sun burned self in bed. We were at the ball park from 10:45am until 5:30pm,I am worn out and I have two extra kids this weekend.

I am scraed of the water bill!

After three days of watching money be poured into the pool it is finally filled with water. I didn't think it was ever going to fill up. All I heard for three days is water running. I have been told to save up, because the water bill will be close to $200 over the normal bill :( We have replaced the liner and converted to a salt water pool. The kids have tasted the water (YUCK by the way) and they said it does taste like salt but not as bad as the ocean so its fine, they said. I am so glad we have their approval! At last the pool is ready and the weather is getting HOT so come on and take a dive!

PLAY BALL!!!

We have started ball season off kind of rough. I was starting to think that maybe baseball just isn't in the cards for him. Well, last night he FINALLY got a hit and got to get on first base. We were so excited! I bet all the people thought I had just won the lottery. This is there third game of the season. They sadly lost last night and the other night....and the other night.... but we have Saturday to get a WIN. From the picture you can tell that I didn't have the camera ready, maybe Saturday I will get the chance to take some good ones of him on a base or hitting the ball :)
